MEN'S CAP #1 - MICHEL LANGELIER

Michel Langelier is a long-time contributor to Canadian water polo, originally from the CAMO club, founding coach of the Hull/Gatineau program, and a former National Team goalkeeper (1978–1983). He built an extensive coaching career in Hull/Gatineauand at uOttawa, served as High Performance coach in Saskatchewan (1986–1990s), led Water Polo Canada for ten years in the 1990s, organized the first Women’s Olympic Qualification event in 1999, and remains active today in the Masters category.

Michel is also the founder of Destination LA28, an initiative aiming to secure over $1.25M to ensure that both Canadian National Teams can perform at the LA 2028 Olympic Games and beyond.

MEN'S CAP #9 - BILL MEYER

As a young athlete in the 1970's and 80's I was given so much support during my Water Polo career. Coming off of hosting the 1976 Olympics Games, support for sports and the funding for amateur sport in Canada, especially a low profile sport like ours, was adequate  to allow me and my Team Mates to have the training and competition we needed at the time.

Today, not so much. Costs continually increase while sports funding has drastically decreased over the years. I feel it's vital, as an alumni, to do what I can do to help the next generation carry on with their Water Polo careers and aspirations. I find that the Legacy Cap program is a fun unique way to make a small contribution to the future of our National Team programs.
